My husband and I stopped in on a whim for Sunday dinner. It was packed must have been peak time when we showed up. The wait was an hour unless u find a spot at the bar. Which is where we sat n ate at. Now let's get to the good part the food!! We had the bone marrow app. ( who thinks of serving this?) ha it's was very good, you have to not be shy if your watching any form of weight or cholesterol as this is pretty fatty! I kinda felt like I was doing an Andrew Zimmerman moment trying this out! Loved every dripping greasy drop of it!! We even asked for more bread jus to get every drop of it!! Now that was jus for starters. I ordered the short rib and I tell Ya I thought I was cutting through a piece of butter that's how tender it was, mouth melting along with sweet purée corn! My hubs had the flank steak very nicely done. I also tried their signature drink something mule ( can't exactly remember the full name). Umm after I babysat and made myself finish it I thought I had drank a bottle of Novocain as it was pretty strong and u felt pretty number after I was done!But then again could of be a mixture of the wine I was drinking at the time lol! Needless to say I was a happy camper leaving there! My husband had dessert and orders the strawberry short cake along with fresh press coffee. He said it was very good! I didn't get anything as I was working on my drinks! Lol Great place to try out if your visiting the Island and try to make reservations unless u don't mind sitting at the bar! Hey u just never kn who u will meet or chat with at the bar!

The service, the atmosphere, the food... This place is heavenly. Save room for dessert- you will not be disappointed. Captain Crunch ice cream??? So bizarre and yummy. The key lime/ blueberry concoction is devine.

Great craft cocktail menu, the jalapeño cornbread starter was delicious. We both had one of their fish entires and they were both excellent. The atmosphere was cool yet casual. Very friendly service. If we come back to Hilton Head on vacation we will make sure to eat at Lucky Rooster Kitchen & Bar.

Wow. Specialty drinks to start were awesome. Special apps great, we had the steak tar tar which was great. Had the best pork chop of my life! Also my wife had a great seafood special! Dessert? How about house made cap'n crunch ice cream! Tasted like breakfast at the breakfast bar at the rental house on Edisto Beach when I was a kid. Amazing!!!

This place is a must try. My wife and I vacationed in HH in May 2014 and tried this new place. It was so good we went back a second time. The service is great, and we had a wonderful waiter by the name of AJ on our second visit. He was very friendly, and knowledgeable about the menu and provided great service. The first time there we ate at the bar, and the bar staff was very friendly and provided excellent service. We also met one of the waiters who was eating at the bar. He gave us some great suggestions, and was very nice. We will go back again when in HH.

Catfish was great, along with banana pudding and brownie. Great kid options including a filet mignon for around $11. Everyone loved their meal. Definitely the best meal we had during our week on the island.

So delicious! I had the grouper and it was so fresh. We brought the kids and the kids menu was also wonderful with great priced filet as well as a shrimp dish. It is so nice to have good food for the kids also, without the only choices being a hot dog or chicken fingers. Dinner was so good, we had to have dessert also as this chef is clearly talented.

Service good. AC weak not very cool on a 90 degree day. Make sure if you bring a family of four that you have 2 Ben Franklins you can drop. You would think with the prices they would at least have better than tap water in the fancy bottle on the table.

Visiting Hilton Head Island for the weekend and came here for dinner for the second night in a row! Fantastic restaurant (great looking bar, dining space isn't too big) accentuated by the great waitstaff, specially our waitress both nights, Margaret. For drinks, I had the Juliet & Romeo (amazing) the first night and the Moscow Mule (also delicious) the second night. Don't miss the shrimp and grits (a dish I have every time I visit the South and this one was hands-down the best) and the fried chicken (my boyfriend caved and ordered it both nights). We bookended the dinner with a fabulous appetizer each night and ended with dessert and coffee. There are plenty of other options on the island to choose from, but this place is absolutely fantastic from start to finish - great space, great service, and most importantly great food - and we will be back!

I agree with another reviewer. The atmosphere was nice and our waiter was excellent. However, the food is definitely over priced. Yelp let me down this time.

I had the pleasure of dining at the Lucky Rooster this past Saturday night. We were a party of four dining pre-theater. Both the service and the food were top-notch. Two of us had the shrimp and grits which was among the best I've ever had. The menu features so many varied and freshly-prepared dishes that I can't wait to go again and try something new (although it will be hard not to order the shrimp and grits again because it was so good!).

Great experience. I recommend making reservations. The shrimp and grits were amazing. My son loved his fried shrimp and daughter had a wonderful cheeseburger. The service was fantastic! Southern hospitality at it's finest. A huge wine list too!

This was a very nice restaurant with a good ambiance. Food delivery was very slow and the meals were overpriced. The food was good but not enough to justify the price tag.
